Chapter 1268

Chapter 1268:

“There really is an electronic door. That woman must be hiding in the basement. Let’s move in quickly!” one of them declared.

Allison ducked behind the corner of the staircase, watching the tall figures.

They were clearly well-trained mercenaries.

A cold thought flashed through her mind — these men were likely here to kill her mother.

As the group of men in black surged into the basement through the electronic door, Allison and Kellan moved in their direction, keeping to the shadows.

“Ahead.”

The two exchanged a glance.

Among the men in black, one lagged behind.

Without hesitation, Kellan sprang into action. In the darkness, with a cold and focused expression, he clamped a hand over the straggler’s mouth and knocked him out in one swift motion.noveldrama

Allison wasted no time. She stripped the unconscious man of his clothes and put them on.

“I’ll impersonate him to infiltrate the team.” She turned to Kellan and said seriously, “You head to the monitoring room. We may both be trapped down here if we follow them together. It’s better to split up.” Taking a deep breath, she continued, “I scouted the area before. The monitoring room controls Aröme Tower. If things go south and I need backup, you can override the system from there. If I find my mother but the situation is critical, I’ll tap my earpiece three times. That means you act immediately.”

This would also give Allison extra help.

Kellan understood that perfectly. He fixed his gaze on her and advised, “I’ll move fast. Just be careful. Don’t do anything reckless — safety first.” He knew Allison well. Once she made up her mind, there was no changing it. And when it came to her mother, her resolve would only harden.

“I’ll meet you after I check the monitoring room.”

Allison nodded. “Okay. I trust you.”

Without another word, they split up. Their understanding of each other was seamless. No further discussion was needed.

Allison quietly merged into the group.

The men were all dressed in black. She pulled her high collar up to conceal her face. In the dim light, she blended in seamlessly.

The door to the basement shut behind them.

With flashlights in hand, the men in black descended.

Allison knew that following them was dangerous. Her heart pounded.

Not from fear, but from anticipation.

She wasn’t afraid of what lay ahead. She was afraid of the answer.

Her mother might be here.

Staying close to the group, Allison followed them down the stairs. After descending a single flight, they stepped into the true underground space.
