Chapter 1237

Chapter 1237:

“You must have looked in the wrong section,” Allison told the receptionist, her tone calm and measured. “Please check among the black cards. I’m not a regular VIP.”

The man was visibly stunned, unable to stop himself from looking her up and down.

“I beg your pardon, Miss, but the Royal Golf Club has issued fewer than ten black cards in the history of its operations.” He still doubted that he had heard her correctly. “You see, black card members need to have their assets verified, and their cumulative annual spending must reach ten million.”

Allison appeared young, no older than thirty. How could she possibly be a black card holder?

Melany casually flicked her hair over her shoulder. “You were hired to assist clients with their concerns, weren’t you? Now that Ms. Clarke has asked you to check the black card section, go ahead and do it.” She was eager to see Allison get humiliated. “You wouldn’t want us to file a complaint, right?”

On the surface, it seemed as though Melany was speaking up for Allison. In reality, she was setting her up for an even greater failure. Black cards were prestigious, and simply mentioning them was enough to intimidate ordinary people.

But Melany knew just how bold Allison was. She wouldn’t be surprised if Allison was bluffing about something like this.

“There’s nothing wrong with checking the black card section, of course,” the receptionist continued, “but if your card number doesn’t show up again, I’m afraid I’ll have to consider this matter as malicious troublemaking. I’ll need to file an incident report.” His look toward Allison was stern, perhaps even condescending. “Are you sure you want me to proceed, Ms. Clarke?”

Colton’s brow furrowed into a dark scowl. “Allison, there are some things you shouldn’t joke about.”

At that moment, he was willing to bet good money that Allison wasn’t a club member at all, black card or otherwise. If she truly had that much money, why would she travel all this way just to compete with them over a contract?

But Allison continued to ignore him, acting as if neither Colton nor Melany existed.

“Please check it,” she calmly instructed the receptionist.

“Fine,” the man said with a reluctant nod.

Despite his doubts, he remained a professional. He opened the black card section and entered the card number Allison had provided.

Melany practically bounced on her feet with anticipation. When the receptionist’s frown deepened, and his expression grew serious, she could no longer contain her grin. “Well? Did you find it?”

If Allison was caught lying to get into the Royal Golf Course, the consequence would be a permanent ban.

Melany chuckled softly to herself, silently mocking Allison for her pretentiousness. The poor woman probably never expected things to escalate to this point.

But in the next moment, the receptionist looked up at them, his expression blank, almost dazed.

“I found it.” His face flushed immediately, his lips trembling with a mix of fear and excitement.

He sprang to his feet and bowed deeply, offering a sincere, respectful apology. “Ms. Clarke, welcome to the Royal Golf Course!” He almost choked on his words in his fear. “Please accept my sincerest apologies. I was wrong in how I handled our business earlier. Rest assured, Ms. Clarke, I will notify everyone immediately. The entire upper-level service staff will be at your disposal.”
