Chapter 1456: AdmirationChapter 1456: Admiration
Kian observed Daisy with a subdued gaze, not hesitating or pausing as he spoke directly, "I'm sorry,
Miss Daisy, Mr. Simpson is quite busy today. He's still in a meeting and has even delegated the
family matters to me. So, I regret to inform you that I'm unable to make decisions on his behalf. If
you need to discuss something with Mr. Simpson personally, I can schedule an appointment for you
and notify you at the appointed time, is that alright?"
Kian treated Daisy strictly on professional terms, showing no undue courtesy or a different attitude
towards her, to avoid any misinterpretation.
After hearing Kian's words, Daisy's expression turned visibly sour, and her voice lost its initial
gentleness, becoming somewhat indifferent. She said, "No need, I'll have my father's secretary
contact him later."
Daisy's demeanor was clearly not cheerful as she finished speaking and turned away with her
secretary.
Kian did not follow her but instead turned to take the elevator back to Ayan's office.
He reported the incident to Ayan, mentioning, "Daisy said she would contact Mr. Schulz through the
secretary to talk directly to you."
"Let her do that," Ayan responded indifferently, rubbing his forehead from the fatigue caused by the
situation. "Later, contact Kerry and have him interact more with her. The closer she gets to Kerry,
the less she will focus on me."
It was a minor incident, or rather a usual occurrence, but today, it seemed to hold different
significance for Daisy. After leaving the Simpson Group, she intended to return to her hotel. However, just as she was about to hail a cab with her secretary, a man wearing a mask suddenly
blocked her path. With no bodyguard around, only her secretary accompanying her, Daisy felt
startled.
Instinctively, she stepped back to maintain distance, but the man spoke up, "Don't be nervous, Miss
Daisy. I'm not a bad person, I just want to have a chat."
Knowing Daisy's identity seemed to ease her initial alarm, but she remained guarded as she replied,
"Who are you?"
noveldramaThe man just smiled, "You don't need to know me, Miss Daisy. I'm not important, but what I want to
discuss with you is quite significant to you."
Daisy paused, puzzled by his words, and took a moment to respond.
The man continued, "You just came from Simpson Group, right? You have feelings for Mr. Simpson,
don't you?"
Shock flickered in Daisy's eyes. She knew little of Ayan's thoughts, so such a direct question
momentarily stunned her. She countered, "Are you from Camille? Did she send you to probe me?"
Daisy could only suspect Camille, having just met Ayan and knowing he would not ask such
questions, as he was well aware of her affections.
Her mind flooded with doubts, her eyes intensely scrutinizing the man who dared not reveal his true
face, increasing her wariness.
The man, anticipating her reaction, continued with a light, reassuring smile, "Don't be nervous, Miss
Daisy. I've told you, I'm not a bad person nor here to exploit you. I merely wish to propose a
cooperation. Surely, you won't deny me this opportunity?"Daisy looked at him, her voice indifferent, "What kind of cooperation? We don't know each other, I
don't see what we could possibly cooperate on."
"Of course, there is. One doesn't need to be acquainted to collaborate, so, Miss Daisy, you
shouldn't feel burdened."
His gaze remained meaningful, sparking Daisy's curiosity about the nature of this proposed
cooperation.
Once intrigued, Daisy couldn't help but ask, "What do you want to cooperate on?"
The man suggested, "This isn't the best place to talk. How about we find a more suitable place to sit
down and discuss at length?"
Daisy didn't object, instructing her secretary to cancel their cab and followed the man across to a
nearby café.
The café was mediocre at best, the worst Daisy had seen, small with only instant coffee that was
exceptionally unpalatable, making her visibly disdainful. She sat curled up on the sofa, reluctant to
touch anything unnecessary.
She soon broke the silence, "Speak then, what is it?"
The man finally posed the question, "Miss Daisy, you harbor feelings of admiration for Mr. Simpson,
don't you have any desires to make him yours?"
Daisy frowned, her thoughts indeed had lingered on this for more than a day, but so what? Some
desires aren't easily fulfilled, like her feelings for Ayan, who showed no interest in her, repeatedly
rejecting and distancing himself.
Feeling weary from the unreciprocated affection, Daisy, however, hadn't given up yet.She remained silent, looking at the man, who after a pause, pressed, "Don't you understand my
question, Miss Daisy?"
Their eyes locked, Daisy's gaze turning dimmer. She replied, "So what? Just because you say you
want to be the richest person in the world doesn't mean you can achieve it, right?"
"Of course not, because I don't have the capability. But Miss Daisy, you and Mr. Simpson are a
match made in heaven. You should be together; it would be a powerful alliance. Aren't you willing to
let him go to a woman who isn't even on your level?"
The man's emotions surged as he spoke, his tone becoming intense, his dark eyes fixed on Daisy
as if trying to imprint his words into her mind, compelling her to act on them.
