Victoria glared at Anayah, stopping her from talking about the past.
Anayah raised her head and slanted her lips, “What’s that for? All I said are facts. Count it with your
own fingers. Which one did not have at least billions of dollars? Those without this much money dared
not even to flirt with you.”
“Why did you choose Maximilian, the poor boy? I thought you were just using him as a shield. Wow,
then it turned out that you were serious. I just don’t get it.”
“Anayah, if you kept saying this, we are not going there anymore. Just get someone else to check the
man for you.” Victoria said unpleasantly.
Anayah got worried, and started acting cute and shaking Victoria’s arms. “Don’t. I stop. Nobody can do
this except you. Other girls might even want to compete with me. They are all fake friends. Only you
are my true friend.”
Victoria looked at Anayah speechlessly, and then gave her phone back, “This would be the only time.
Don’t ask me to do this kind of things anymore.
“There won’t be a next time. Time is up. Let’s head out, so we won’t miss anything interesting. I heard
that this event is big.”
With Anayah rushing her constantly, Victoria had no mood for work anymore, so she had to get ready
for leaving.
Maximilian held the bag for Victoria and followed her and Anayah out. When they got to the parking lot,
before Victoria could start her car, Anayah waved her BMW key.
“Victoria, forget about your car. They wouldn’t even let your car in. Let’s drive my BMW.” Anayah was
feeling very confident at this moment, since she had always been overshadowed by Victoria’s
brilliance, standing by her side like a nobody. But now she had a much better car than Victoria.
After she married a rich guy, she would be able to overshadow Victoria. Anayah could not help but
feeling excited.
Victoria thought for a moment, and then walked up toward the BMW.
Anayah got in the driver’s seat happily, while Victoria sat in the passenger seat and Maximilian sat at
the back.
As the car got started, Anayah said, “My ex-boyfriend gave it to me. I wanted a Benz, but even though
Benz felt more comfortable, it was not that easy to control as BMW.”
“Ah.” Maximilian chuckled disdainfully.
Anayah glared at Maximilian through the mirror, “What are you laughing at? Buy one for Victoria then.
Not even to mention BMW and Benz, I will be surprised if you could afford an Audi.”
“That’s really not something difficult. I’ll get one for Victoria in the next two days.” Maximilian said
randomly.
“Lol, bragging is free, isn’t it? Next two days. If you were that good, buy one now. I know the manager
in the shop. How about I call one for you right now? Maybe I could get you a discount.”
Anayah talked back immediately. She did not think Maximilian could afford one car.
Victoria touched her forehead, did not expect to see them getting along so bad.
“Anayah, I’m getting upset.” Victoria said unpleasantly. noveldrama
Anayah pouted and said, “Victoria, you are protecting him so much. Are you treating him like a son
because of how sad he is? You are acting like a mother.”
“It’s not that. Maximilian is a very capable man. He just doesn’t like to show off.” Victoria tried to explain
for Maximilian.
Victoria still did not get who Maximilian really was, but after so many ups and downs, she knew he was
definitely not a nobody.
Maybe neither fame nor money was important for Maximilian. Victoria thought as long as Maximilian
wanted, all these were easy to get for him.
Anayah was going to keep quiet, since her job was to get Victoria to the party, and it would bring great
beneficial for her.
However, after hearing Victoria complimenting Maximilian, she could not hold it in anymore, “Victoria,
you are lying to protect him. This is just too much. Do you still consider me your friend? I just simply
mocked your husband for being a loser. I did not say he could not make you happy in bed.”
Victoria immediately looked upset and turned to look at Anayah coldly, which made her nervous.
“Don’t be mad, Victoria. I didn’t really mean it. Don’t take it serious.” Anayah hurriedly explained.
“Apologize to Maximilian.” Victoria said coldly.
Anayah glimpsed at Maximilian, feeling stuffed inside, and her whole face turned red.
Why should she apologize to this loser? She just said the truth!
Never mind. She would bear this insult for the benefits promised by Iris. She could get someone to
avenge her later in the party. Same for Victoria!
Anayah’s heart was filled with grudge, but she squeezed a smile and said dryly, “So, sorry, Maximilian, I
did not think straight before I talked.”
“I don’t mind. I’m used to it.” Maximilian said lightly.
Anayah just wanted to cry out. Why didn’t he talk to Victoria earlier then? He had to wait till she
apologized. Basically, he did this on purpose to insult her.
Maximilian glimpsed at her, and then continued, “I am used to being apologized to. You are not the first
one to apologize to me, and won’t be the last one either.”
Anayah felt like dying, as if all the blood was rushing into her brain and trying to burst out from it. This
was bullying! Bullying!
Anayah got so angry that her hands started shaking on the steering wheel. The BMW started going a
bit out of control on the street, making other cars honing at them.
“Victoria, why don’t you do something?”Anayah sounded like crying.
“He was telling the truth.” Victoria said calmly, “Park at the side. You are not in a good mood, so you
should quit driving for now.”
Anayah wiped off the tears, then stopped the car, “Who wants to drive? I don’t want to drive
anymore.”
